Sea Bros!

Is this the first time we’ve seen interspecies “play” in the wild?

Dolphins, with their characteristic “smile” and effortless acrobatics, strike us as being some of the happiest-go-luckiest animals out there. They ride the wakes of ships, are naturally curious, and even surf waves gracefully enough to make Laird Hamilton jealous.

So maybe this video is unsurprising (but still amazing)? Dolphins and humpbacks were observed in playful interaction, with the dolphins sliding down the humpbacks’ snouts. They weren’t distressed and they weren’t fighting.

Left with no other explanation, we should work from the simplest one: It sure seems to me like they are just having fun.
